To celebrate the end of #VolunteersWeek we had a quick Q&A with Jonny…
Who, What, Where, When and Why?
Who: Jonathan Robinson, Remanufacturing Unit Process Engineer
What: Volunteer Crew member at the Enniskillen RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).
Where: Enniskillen Yacht Club. The Enniskillen lifeboat was the first RNLI inland station to operate in Northern Ireland
When: Every Thursday for training & anytime in between…
Why: To play with the big toys & for the burgers on a Thursday evening of course! Joking aside, the reason I volunteer is to give something back to an organisation that has helped so many people in our local community; to gain new skills, knowledge and experience from an fantastic group of local people who give their of own free time to teach others and make you feel a valued part of a team.
95% of the RNLI’s total income comes from donations. The donations they receive help courageous RNLI volunteers answer the call for help from anyone who needs them – at any time of day or night, in all weather conditions.
