Successful Shuts, Good For Local Communities

October 31, 2024

Rather than honour one individual for October’s Employee of the Month, we are delighted to have the opportunity to highlight the trojan efforts of our teams during recent maintenance across 3 of our ‘plants’.

The annual plant shutdowns for scheduled maintenance require careful coordination between external contractors, suppliers and our team. These shutdowns are essential to maintaining the long-term efficiency, safety, and reliability of our operations.

Dennis McKeown, Maintenance Manager in Enniskillen paid tribute to his team;
“For all the sawmill staff, involved in the removal and installation of equipment in the first planned shutdown in many years. It was a tremendous effort. It takes everyone to make this happen which in turn makes a great team”.

Gary Kettyle, Energy Plant Manager in Enniskillen continued;
“I would like to thank all Energy Plant team members and our contractors for their hard work and effort during the maintenance shutdown period. It shows the great teamwork and spirt that we have at the Energy Plant from all team members that got stuck into the work in hand, even during the not so nice tasks. This effort by all ensures that we can return both the boiler and pellet plant to service in a safe and timely manner”

Concluding, Mike Henderson, Energy Plant Manager in Invergordon added;
“I would like to thank all staff, contractors and suppliers who helped get the plant serviced and back on line, ready to run for the next 12 months. Shutdowns are a busy but rewarding time. A huge amount of work is involved across every aspect of the business to make it happen and we are very grateful to everyone involved. Thank you very much.”

In recognition of the efforts of the entire team we are making a donations of £1000 to Helping Hand Charity RBHSC the official charity partner of Balcas, Enniskillen for 2024. In memory of Thomas Donohoe, a donation to Pulmonary Fibrosis NI and in Robert Adamson’s memory, a donation to our Invergordon charity partner for 2024, MND Scotland. Both valued members of the Energy Teams, they will be dearly missed. May they rest in peace.
