First in Ireland to achieve new EU Certification
As the first company in Ireland to receive ENplus certification, we are delighted to be leading the way with our premium quality brites fuel.
Through ENplus the Austrian certification body in co-operation with the European Pellet Council aim to ensure the supply of standardised, high-quality wood pellets for end users. A clearly defined uniform quality level is vitally important as wood pellets become increasingly important energy carrier.
As part of the evaluation process the complete supply chain of brites was assessed including the wood pellets, labelling, logistics, and delivery vehicles. Paula Keelagher, brites Market Development Manager said: “As the leading wood pellet manufacturer in Ireland and the UK we had to ensure that Balcas led the way and set an example for the industry by achieving this accolade. Quality has always been our main objective and being a certified product across the whole manufacturing process is an immense achievement for both Balcas and the brites team and further demonstrates our commitment to our customers and the wood fuel industry.”
Peter Rechberger, General Manager, European Pellet Council adds “The European Pellet Council recognises Balcas as the largest producer of ENplus pellets in the UK and Ireland. A guaranteed high pellet quality will greatly aid the development of the UK and Ireland pellet market for domestic heating and ensure customer satisfaction.”
