Balcas Make Waves (and £4.5K) Around ‘The Town’
30 members of #TeamBalcas completed a circuit of Enniskillen Town by hydrobike last Friday in memory of Erne Jones and to raise funds for the Aisling Centre.
It was a unique challenge for us to undertake, and after so many months not being able to fundraise as a team, it seemed fitting to get our feet a little wet.
It was really heart-warming to see local businesses come forward and play their part too. Erne Adventures & Pat’s Bar both donated their costs associated with the event and I think that shows just how important mental health matters to everyone now.
Emer Jones, Erne’s sister paid tribute to the support shown by the local community in helping raise awareness as well as their generosity saying: “It is great to see such a small knit community come together to raise awareness for such an important cause. I would like to thank everyone who donated and participated in the fundraiser. The funds raised will go to a tremendous charity that works very hard within our community.”
The current total is sitting at just over £4500 but will remain open for another couple of weeks for anyone still wishing to make a donation at https://localgiving.org/fundraising/BalcasRocksTheLough/
