Balcas Host Launch of Renewables Support Programme

Balcas were delighted to host the launch of the GREBE Project on Friday past, the event also marked the close of Fermanagh & Omagh District Council Enterprise week.

‘Generating Renewable Energy Business Enterprise’ (GREBE) is a project to support renewable energy energy enterprises over the 3-year period, 2015 – 2018. It is a transnational project operating across the West of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Finland, Norway and Iceland, and will be led by the Western Development Commission (WDC).

A welcome address was given by Cllr Thomas O’Reilly, Chairperson of FODC and Una Porteous, GREBE Project Officer provided an overview of this new initiative. Following a presentation by Brian Murphy, CEO of Balcas, the 30+ attendees enjoyed a tour of the sawmills and CHP plant.
