Timber Technologists Awarded

Last week Brian returned for a third year to confer the Balcas Awards to students in the School of Architecture, Building & Environment at Technology University Dublin to Timber Technology programmes.

The awards are to students of each stage of a programme that demonstrated the greatest academic excellence in the previous academic year. A parchment and a cash gift are awarded annually by Balcas to each winner.  

Brian presented the awards and took the opportunity to speak about our about passion for sustainability. He was impressed by the insights that each award winner shared from a particular module. We are delighted to announce that the winners for 2023-24 are: 

The Balcas Award 2023-24 for Academic Merit in Year 1 is awarded to Luca Power; Year 2 saw a tie between Una Duffy & Padraig Lowry, and Year 3awardee is Nikita Tolstosejin.
